Every Storycloth has a story.
Each Storycloth is created by a participant during a Woven Heart experience. There is no pattern to follow and no picture to copy. Instead, each person chooses fabrics, colors, textures, shapes, and embellishments intuitively. What begins as a collection of pieces gradually becomes something uniquely their own. Sometimes the meaning is clear right away. Sometimes it reveals itself later. And sometimes the Storycloth simply feels meaningful without needing an explanation.
A story told through fabric
Fabric can hold memories.
A color may remind us of a person or a place. A texture may evoke a feeling. A particular shape may catch our attention for reasons we don't understand.
As participants create, they are invited to notice these responses without having to explain them.
The hands begin to create, and the story begins to unfold.
Each one is different
No two Storycloths are alike.
Some are colorful and joyful.
Some are quiet and reflective.
Some seem to tell a story immediately.
Others reveal their meaning slowly.
There is no right way for a Storycloth to look.
What matters is what it means to the person who created it.
