Our journey to intuitive creativity

I never dreamed that I would be putting together two of my favorite things and come up with something so amazing. My friend and I asked ChatGPT one day where we should take our careers moving forward. Mine was to use my love of fabric and sewing combined with my love of hypnotherapy to create something unique. It took a book about making fabric flowers and three months of thinking to realize what I wanted to do, and Woven Heart Studio was born.

The first Storycloth I did was around the death of my son and my husband. I named it "Release." I was not expecting the emotions that surfaced. I allowed myself to choose fabrics, ribbons, and netting without trying to figure out their meaning. I just felt my way through the picture as it developed. As I moved up the Storycloth, my emotions lightened. By the time I finished, I felt a release and an ease around their passing that I have never felt before. I'm very grateful to be given this process. I sincerely hope it helps others at least as much.

Creating a safe space for expression

When people first come into my studio, I encourage them to look around at all the things that are available to work with. Once everyone is present, I help them tune into what they want to focus on during our session. We might do this through writing or a guided meditation.

We talk about letting go of what something might mean, and simply being open to feel which fabric they are drawn to. I remind them that there is no right or wrong way to create something, just their way, and that sewing is optional. The focus is not on artistic skill, but on exploration, creativity, and meaningful self-expression.

The profound impact of creative release

The most rewarding part of facilitating these amazing creations is when the participants are totally lost in the process. They are in the zone and lost to the feel of what is going on inside their creativity, wise, intuitive mind. Seeing that deep connection tells me I'm witnessing something powerful.

My hope is for participants to experience insight, emotional release, healing, inspiration, clarity, or a renewed sense of creativity. Others may simply enjoy the relaxing and meaningful experience of creating in a supportive environment.

"The intuitive creativity session was truly transformative. I felt seen, supported, and was amazed by what I created. It was a profound and healing experience."
